Kids Out is one of Rotary's largest Community Service projects. Each year on the second Wednesday in June, a large number of Rotary Clubs up and down Great Britain and Ireland organise a day's outing for children with special needs. In our local area, the destination is Drayton Manor Park - the family run theme park near Tamworth - with over 2,000 children and their carers (whether school staff, parents or Rotarians) filling the park on that special day.

The Rotary Club of Bedworth supported Exhall Grange Specialist School and Science College this year. At a little before 9.30am on Wednesday 12th June, two minibuses full of very happy children, and similarly happy staff, were seen off by four Bedworth Rotarians. The weather was looking a little overcast, but on reaching the Theme Park the sun broke through - not that it really mattered to the children, who were focused on the rides of course!

All the children and many of the carers are provided with t-shirts bearing the Kids Out logo - this year in pale blue. The t-shirts then act as their admission ticket for the rides, which results in the amazing site at Drayton Manor where literally thousands of pale blue t-shirts can be seen dominating the Staffordshire Theme Park.
